So what's the lowdown on this lovely spot? The first thing worth knowing about this place is that it's also a farm, meaning that you'll share the place with chickens and goats (good news for kids and critter-crazed grownups alike). Next, there's the location: Glamping Gozdna Jasa is, handily, pretty much right off the main road, but the pitching field is a quiet spot well away from the noise of passing cars.
Facilities-wise, you're looking at well-kept toilets and showers, plus free wifi. Need to keep energy levels up? Barbecues can be set up here if you're after an alfresco dinner, while a wider range of food prep can be sorted in the spacious and well-equipped shared kitchen close by.
All this is about 250 metres from the banks of the Soča, an emerald-green river that makes a brill backdrop for a whole host of active adventures. Looking to add a bit of pizzaz to your holiday snaps? Tick off the following waterfalls and your friends back at home really will wish they were here. Boka waterfall (around 30-45 minutes' walk) and Virje waterfall (10 minutes' drive) are both within easy reach; the former is bigger in scale and made up of crystal-clear meltwater, while the latter is a smaller but equally gorgeous multi-stranded cascade in a peaceful forest setting.
Planning pan-European adventures? On the Italian side there's the Julian Pre-Alps Regional Natural Park (about 20 minutes), while those up for the hour-long drive can also get out to the historic town of Villach in southern Austria.
Not a fan of long drives? Golf Bovec (five minutes), a zipwire centre (five minutes) and the Alpe Adria Trail (right outside the site) supply sufficiently varied entertainment closer to home. The Grand Canyon of Soča (20 minutes) also deserves, at the very least, a drive-by visit.
