With any luck, all forms of hols should lead to an upturn in one’s mood and health… truth be told, of course, sometimes a little extra help might be needed to coax some folk back to tiptop condition.
The team at Overijssel site Camperplaats Vechtdal have taken note of this, and set their place up to promote wellbeing among all guests. A trip here’s focused on exploring nature, country estates and the pretty villages set along the banks of the Vecht river, whether by bike or on foot, then steaming in the on-site sauna or indulging in a massage at the end of your day out.
Getting out on bikes is stress-free around these parts: trails lead directly from the park and bikes (including e-bikes for those who’d like to take it even easier) can be hired in the local village of Nieuwleusen, a 20-minute stroll away. If such active times leave you a tad sore around the edges, use that as a fine excuse for a wrap, foot massage or another therapy listed on the wellness menu back at the park.
Swims are an option too, up at the public pool in the village; pick up supplies for meals at the village shops or the Saturday market while you’re there. With a nod to the fact that early-morning foraging runs don’t go well with chillout time, a bakery delivery service brings breakfast goodies to site every morning except for Sundays.
A couple more things that might contribute to keeping folk happy on site are the free wifi and the heated toilet and shower facilities (because chilly toes never did anyone any good…)
