Buckle up. For a brief amble from the lively family site of Camping and Theeschenkerij 't Oegenbos in the East Netherlands will have you at the neighbouring parachuting centre, from which you can cruise in a light aircraft, have a hot air balloon ride, or get stuck into a skydive from three kilometres above ground – you'll see heady types colourfully above you from most spots on site.
Those who tremble at the very thought of hurtling towards earth all on their very own can take a tandem parachute ride instead, or have a flight in the world's largest biplane the Antonov 2 if that suits adrenaline levels better. And if your adrenaline usually hovers around the levels of 'low to sluggish, ta very much', placid pursuits such as zoo visits and strolling, cycling and town sightseeing are within easy reach too from this Teuge village and Gelderland Veluwe setting.
In among all that is plenty to keep you entertained as well as relaxed (essential after a parachuting trip) around this spacious and green site. There's a fine big swimming pond to start you off, with a sandy beach alongside for basking on sunny days. Also on site are a small library, a pétanque court and a cosy common area with big TV.
And in among all that? Stroll to the licensed terrace café for hot sandwiches, croissants, tea and coffee in the morning, and drop in throughout the day for takeaway snacks, boozy beverages and hot meals including frikandellen: if you're not a native, this last Dutch delicacy is one to try.
Electric bikers can prepare for their Netherlands cycling adventures by powering up at the charging point on site.

Llocs d'interès
Plenty of walking and cycling trails, such as along the IJssel's embankment, leave from the site, and stacks of mountain biking trails are around the Veluwe woodlands. If you're up for air-based antics, the parachuting centre is next door.
It's a 20-minute drive to Apenheul Primate Park, the first monkey park in the Netherlands designed so the chattering inhabitants could swing freely among the trees and among visitors. There's also the fab Royal Burgers' Zoo, about 40 minutes' drive away at Arnhem, and Dolfinarium, Europe's largest marine mammal park, also 40 minutes away at Harderwijk. Speelparadijs Pannenkoekenhuis indoor play centre is less than 20 minutes from the site.
For a town day, take a trip to Apeldoorn to see the Kröller Müller Museum, home to the second biggest Van Gogh collection in the world.
