Camping and Bungalows Porto Sosàlinos is a peaceful pine-filled site in coastal Cala Liberotto, around a 10-minute drive from the town of Orosei. It’ll take you mere minutes to trot to the nearest beach from here – excellent news for those seeking some proper lazy lounging. Should you wish to expand your horizons and/or get active, you’ll find plenty of charms along this stretch of coast, including a lengthy list of stunning beaches and aquatic antics such as kitesurfing, canyoning, scuba diving and boat trips. Loafing around on site is a pretty enticing option too, for this is a place that’s been built with relaxation firmly on the agenda. Join in with meditation sessions or gym classes on the beach if you so desire, swing by the wellness centre to book a massage or take advantage of the chilled vibe to hang around in a hammock. Such relaxing times are best fuelled by easy access to food and drinks, of course, and so it is here: grab your beers from the bar and order pizzas, pastas or grills from the restaurant’s wood-fired oven. Should you be up for sorting your own feasts, there’s a communal barbecue area with outdoor tables, and a kitchen area with guest fridges. A supermarket for supplies is a few minutes away by car.

As well as the sands in Cala Liberotto itself, you may wish to investigate Su Barone beach (a peaceful three-kilometre stretch with stunning mountain views) or take a walk through the nature reserve to get to Oasi Biderosa. Orosei, 10 minutes away by car, is the place to go for boat trips that scuttle in and out of some of the gorgeous little sea caves along the craggy coastline. You can also hire your own boat here or sign up to plunge into the depths on a scuba diving trip. A watersports centre in La Caletta, around 25 minutes away, can instruct you in the ways of kitesurfing, surfing and paddleboarding. If you can bear to leave the seaside for a bit, site staff can help you organise rock climbing and canyoning outings and point you in the right direction for some scenic coastal hikes.
