Comfy family-sized pre-pitched tents and a cracking location beside the Ardèche river for starters. Oh, and an outdoor swimming pool and direct access to the riverside beach (in high season), plus a lengthy list of outdoor activities…
Let’s start with those. On site there’s masses to keep everyone entertained. Kids can build dams and swim in the river, dip into the swimming pool and let off steam in the playground. There’s a games room for teens, plus facilities to play table tennis and pétanque. You can jump into a canoe to paddle down to the Pont d’Arc, a towering rocky archway spanning the river. And if that’s not enough to satisfy sporty types, reception staff are happy to organise horse riding and quad biking locally for you.
Hikers and cyclists should find plenty to challenge them in Rhône-Alpes hills; for a family day out, the castle and sweet museum in medieval Montélimar are an hour away by car.
Returning to camp, you might like to dine out on the restaurant’s riverside terrace, grab a takeaway, or pick up basics in the handy on-site shop to cook family meals back at your tent's kitchenette. (If you need it, there’s a bigger supermarket in Ruoms, a 10-minute drive away.)
As well as roomy tents with beds, tables and chairs provided, other family-friendly facilities to make life easy here include a shower block, launderette and washing-up area.

Llocs d'interès
Hiking and cycling adventures are all around in the Rhône-Alpes hills, including looped routes leading into the mountains. Families can follow the Ardèche river back to the site from Le Cirque de Gens in around 30 minutes by bike or, if you’re looking for more extreme action, try canyoning in the Rieussec Gorge (15 minutes’ drive).
The high-octane action continues at Entertainment Adventure Camp (10 minutes) too, where families can happily spend the whole day wearing themselves out on ziplines across the river, paintballing and running around treetop rope trails.
Round and about, bizarre local rock formations to look out for include the Pont d’Arc archway (20 minutes) across the Ardèche river, the Gorges de l'Ardèche (25 minutes) and the steep limestone cliffs around the gorgeous waterside village of Labeaume (20 minutes) – all perhaps best viewed from a canoe. Ramp up the cultural vibe with a visit to the prehistoric Dolmen du Calvaire standing stones (10 minutes) and then reward the kids with reptile encounters at the Crocodile Farm (50 minutes).
