Afegiu les dades de la vostra empresaWhat a very verdant Var spot this is… Les Bastides de Chanteraine is in the Verdon Regional Natural Park, and around 400 metres from the shoreline of Sainte-Croix Lake (the largest lake in the park, no less).
And what a fine location for outdoorsy activities too: canoeing, rafting, canyoning, paddleboarding, paragliding and climbing are all nearby, and of course there are numerous places to hike or ride bikes in the natural park. The entrance to one of the area’s top sights, the Gorges du Verdon (aka the ‘European Grand Canyon’) is six kilometres away, and local villages offer up places for games of tennis, basketball and miniature golf.
If that all sounds a little active, seek out instead some of the local villages: perhaps the earthenware makers in Moustiers Sainte-Marie, the wood-turning artisans of Aiguines, the museums of Salernes and Quinson or one of the many local markets selling tasty produce for meals back on site (if it’s not market day, there’s plenty of grub at the shops and restaurants in Aiguines, four kilometres away).
And if you’ve still got energy to expend? Back on site are a pétanque court, ping pong table and an open-air swimming pool along with various kids’ games and table football. Once you’re finally done for the day, grab a cool drink at the cocktail bar or settle in for a meal at the restaurant/pizzeria.

Alfresco activities first? A fine choice, as there are many indeed to keep you busy around here. Watersports enthusiasts should set forth straight away for Sainte-Croix Lake, five minutes’ walk away – as should those who’d simply like to loll about on the beach.
It’s possible to drive through the Gorges du Verdon (15 minutes’ drive), but for the best appreciation of this scenic area, set out on a hike or a kayaking or rafting outing. For more of that pretty scenery, head towards a waterfall wander at Sillans-la-Cascade (half an hour).
Add some history into the mix too with outings to the prehistoric village of Quinson and the smart Château d’Entrecasteaux, a fab fortress dating back to the 11th century. Both are around 40 minutes away. For a taste of traditional farming life, make the 15-minute journey to Ferme des Fabrigoules goat farm.
And a glimpse of local crafts as well? Aim for the wood-turning museum in Aiguines (10 minutes’ drive), the earthenware-producing village Moustiers Sainte-Marie (15 minutes) and Terra Rossa House ceramics museum (half an hour).
