Just Brittany brilliant. What a site this is – on the shores of a lake, surrounded by forest, and within an hour of the spectacular beaches of the Brittany coast… and you may just possibly be chuffed at the idea of an on-site sauna too.
Your hosting waters at Camping Le Lac Ô Fées are those of Lac du Bel-Air, a clear blue expanse of over 100 hectares that's a top spot for swimming, kayaking and windsurfing, as well as more placid pastimes such as fishing (also available in the nearby river) and pedal boating. Walking and hiking trails for all abilities start from the grounds and horse riding is close by; off site, Le Lac Ô Fées is half a kilometre from the Morbihan village of Priziac; 40 minutes from Lorient and an hour from Carnac and La Trinité-sur-Mer.
Drop into reception when you arrive for heaps of tourist info on the region and its activities, while the kids amuse themselves with the strategically placed colouring, board games, books and comics. Or quiz your fellow guests for tips at the regular summer events: themed meals, karaoke nights and magic shows are all laid on for guests.
Foodie facilities include communal barbecues, ice cream and Breton food sales, and a smart and scenic summer snack bar set by the water's edge. Another excellent option in July and August is to bag a breakfast basket at reception to have at your own serene shoreside spot – or have your morning eats delivered right to where you snooze.
Camping Le Lac Ô Fées also has a playground and a pétanque court. And that sauna? Steaming sessions are available to guests for an extra charge.

If you're an angler, you'll find the waters around here excellent. Ask at reception for details on the local river fishing, or find your own Bel Air angling area to try for hauls of brown trout, eels, pike and salmon on the lake.
Fab options for family days out are around here too: a 15-minute drive will take you and the kids to the alpacas, wallabies and other critters to greet at the Chez Dame nature park at Meslan, and it's well worth the 50-minute drive to reach the Labyrinthe de Pont-Aven, where you and the tiddlies can wrestle with the themed mazes.
Other options are the Keroman III U-boat base at Lorient, the trip from Lorient to the beaches and bird park of the island of Groix, or checking out some of Brittany's ancient stones at the Devil's Rocks boulders north of Quimperlé and the prehistoric monuments of Carnac.
