Dawlish Warren... a Pitchup.com pick as one of the best nature reserves in the country – and the Dawlish award-winning two-mile sandy beach isn't to be sniffed at either. If you fancy all this little lot and want to stay on a peaceful but spacious site, have a look at Hazelwood Holiday Park a paltry five minutes' walk from the Warren and set in 38 acres of quiet land with a village feel. It's been run by the same family for over 45 years and is a friendly park where the owners take pride in their personal service. Facilities include an on-site shop, a clubhouse with evening entertainment and food service, an outdoor swimming pool open from the end of May to the end of September, a play park with large open areas and space to run around, a launderette and a takeaway. Fishing is available in the on-site lakes for a small additional charge.

Itineraris

By car: From the M5 follow directions to the A379 towards Powderham Castle and Dawlish. Continue for few miles passing through the villages of Kenton and Starcross. At Cockwood Harbour turn left. Continue round the harbour past the Anchor Pub. Hazelwood Park will be on the right-hand side after 1 mile. Public transport: Dawlish Warren has a rail station just a few minutes from Hazelwood. Change at Exeter St Davids to catch this regular hourly commuter service. Buses leave Exeter Paris Street Station and travel directly to Dawlish Warren. Take the ‘B’ Bus.

The beach and nature reserve of Dawlish Warren are a few minutes' walk away, but Hazelwood Holiday Park is also within easy reach of all of south Devon's activities and attractions like Dartmoor National Park and the 'English Riveria' of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Holidaymakers feeling active have the South West Coast Path, right next to Hazelwood, the Exe Estuary Trail for walking and cycling, and an 18-hole championship links course at the Warren Golf Club just down the road from the park. Other tiptop and popular Devon highlights are easy to get to from here, like Crealy Great Adventure Park, Paignton Zoo, Powderham Castle, Pennywell Farm, Woodlands Family Theme Park, Exeter Cathedral and heaps more. Train and bus services are close by so you can leave the car behind if you want.
