All aboard for an East Sussex adults-only glamping stay that’s likely to stick in the memory for quite some time… Parked up in a pretty part of the High Weald National Landscape about 20 minutes’ drive from Uckfield is Live The Adventure Bus, where you will indeed spend the night cosied up inside a converted bus all of your own. And this is not just any old bus – the double decker vehicle has been refurbished to the highest standards, making it a fabulous and unusual place for an escape with your other half. The interior has that warm and cosy feeling that comes from being decorated with lots of natural wood, and the upper deck… well, just wait till you see what’s up there… So what will you find inside? Well, the ground floor houses a fully equipped kitchen (with fridge, cooker and a coffee machine for that vital morning kickstart), a dining/seating area and a comfy double bed with fabulous views out over the fields. Climb the wood-clad stairs and you’ll be taken up to a bunk bed area (with fabulous 360º views) and out onto a deck for a gorgeous hot tub lit by fairy lights and with yet more of those splendid countryside views. All in all, it’s rather fabulous – but don’t tuck yourselves away here for your whole stay, as the area is equally enticing. Winnie the Pooh’s stamping ground Ashdown Forest is close by, as is the Bluebell Railway, or a vineyard, or llama trekking…

If you’d like to get a sneak peek of what might feature on the lists, you could have a look around the High Weald National Landscape for walking trails in places like Ashdown Forest (10 minutes’ drive) or attractions like the National Trust sites at Sheffield Park (five minutes) and Standen House (20 minutes). The gardens at Wakehurst (15 minutes) are fabulous too. As well as all that, there are steam trains to ride on the Bluebell Railway (five minutes), woolly friends to take for a walk at Spring Farm Alpacas (five minutes) and tours and tastings at Bluebell Vineyard Estates (15 minutes’ walk).
