Em va agradar: Everything. Beautifully created Shepherds Hut - the woodburner kept us cosy and warm - plenty of wood - Jo, our host, checked we were ok when Storm Ashley came in, even offering us a bedroom in the farmhouse if things got scary! so kind of her. Nearest pub, The Brown Horse, an easy 35 minute walk away, serving delicious food. Windermere 10 mins drive away. Lanes very narrow so go carefully - but this adds to special feeling of this wonderful place.

Em va agradar: Everything in the hut was well thought-out and of high quality.
Wonderfully peaceful - all we could hear was the water and the sheep.
There is lovely walking straight from the hut and spectacular walking just a short drive away.

Em va agradar: Absolutely stunning, we felt like we were in our own bubble! Lovely surroundings and everything had been taken care of, a great fire pit to cook our dinner on and so much attention to detail with the decor!

Em va agradar: We loved it all. From the stool to climb into the bed to the willow heart. The woodturning stove which only needed a small log to keep the room warm. The fire pit outside which we would have loved to sit next to, but the weather wasn't on our side. The location is superb. Right under a huge oak tree with sheep in the next field and the river below.

Em va agradar: We had a wonderful stay in the shephard's hut! Super cosy and secluded - just what we hoped for. The hut itself is very comfortable (especially the bed), with brilliant facilities. And the view of the feilds - and sheep - when waking up in the morning... simply glorious! Host Jo (and Doug the dog) went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect stay.

Em va agradar: A really sweet and cosy place to stay. We loved it and would certainly stay again. Neat, clean, well-appointed (only a single gas cook top, but that is fine) and a super comfortable bed, which doubles as a great spot to sit and knit or read when the weather is a bit rainy. Single lane road access to the site is fun, so take it slowly, and don't be afraid to reverse if you need to let someone else pass! Jo the host and her dog Doug were very welcoming.

Em va agradar: My girlfriend and I booked this for my birthday weekend and we had a fantastic time! The weather unfortunately was dreadful, so we couldn't do as much walking as we would have liked, however the Gilpin Mill was brilliant. Very clean and cosy - It had a lovely shower. When we did get a slight break in the weather, we were able to set up the camp fire out the front and toast some marshmallows. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Great location for walks and near the local pub - The Brown Horse - where we had a fantastic Sunday roast.
