Fishing in East Anglia should sound pretty excellent to serious angling types. There are plenty of opportunities for various angling antics at Narborough Fisheries, which has touring pitches on a private 16-acre site with a handful of fishing lakes flowing with chalk stream water from the river Nar. Narborough Fisheries has five lakes available to guests: mixed coarse lake Foresters; match and coarse lake Ashford; carp coarse lake Meadow; specimen carp lake Millers (37-pounders were landed here in 2024); and the well-stocked trout lake Willow. Just remember to bring your Environment Agency rod licence before you get started. The pitches are all set along two of the lakes, with gorgeous lakeside views. There is a shower and toilet block with accessible facilities, as well as a small, well-stocked tackle shop selling a selection of hot and cold drinks, confectionery and other snacks should you need some extra energy to power you through an afternoon of fishing. Away from the rod, you might want to take a day trip to the market town of King's Lynn (20 minutes' drive away) to nose around some shops. There is also a bus from Narborough village that takes a little over an hour to reach Norwich for a day among its Lanes and historic market.

Em va agradar: pitch was ok , toilets and showers were ok

No em va agradar: fishing pegs were in a terrible state on my arrival due to low water level , 7 pegs were unfishable due to collapse or unsafe to fish , water level was down a lot , BUT , all in all I did manage to get on the bank side to catch a few carp, roach,
Owners did say maintenance to the fishing pegs was in hand and underway to be fixed ......will happily return for future visits .........I love the place

Great dog walk on site where the dogs could run.

Em va agradar: Narborough fisheries wa absolutely lovely , very clean and tidy all the facilities you need and the staff are super friendly and relaxed. If you love your fishing this is a great place to come nd stay especially for youngsters starting out fishing . Will definitely return and highly recommend. Best Stacy and wren

Em va agradar: Fishing ponds well stocked, some nice carp & F1's in mixed pond , Specimen pond quite weedy & shallow, well stocked tackle shop but no live baits (although Pellets, boilies fine for these ponds)
Well worth a visit.

No em va agradar: Only has single shower cubicle in men's showers (although facilities are clean and tidy)

Em va agradar: Lakeside pitches and big skys and access to main routes. Nice place to come stay. Very friendly staff and folk coming and going. ⁸

No em va agradar: Toilets are on the opposite site of the lake to touring pitches. Which is a pain after dark. Toilets and showers are clean but could do with a good deep clean.

Em va agradar: Site was very clean and so was the toilets. The fishing was amazing. The pitches are great size. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Everyone was lovely. We will ve back. The Chinese was a 5 minute walk, food was lovely.

Em va agradar: Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent fishing and clean facilities. The site is kept to a very high standard. The whole venue was beautiful and relaxing, ideal for a week away from it all. The free wifi was very reliable. There were no hidden costs. However you did have to pay for the fishing. Highly recommended. Motorhome pitch was right next to the lake which made for very comfortable fishing. There was a well stocked tackle shop which also sold bait.

Llocs d'interès

Fishing, fishing, nature reserves, the north Norfolk coastline and watery sports: what a lot of activities there are to catch in this part of East Anglia. Look at as many as possible of the Norwich 12 (55 minutes' drive), the city's historic buildings, as can possibly be fitted in on a day trip. (If you only have time for a couple, the obvious two are Norman Norwich Castle, which includes the Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, and Norwich Cathedral with its rather splendid large cloisters.) Going west, pick the cathedral city of Peterborough (an hour and five minutes) for another day trip: alongside its 12th-century cathedral, another good idea is to potter among the quarter of a million or so exhibits of the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery. There are watersports on the lakes at Nene Park (an hour and 10 minutes). Perhaps a puff on the Nene Valley Railway between Peterborough Nene Valley and Yarwell Junction too? Or a night out at the Key Theatre, where shows of all sorts run all year. There is plenty of wildlife and sumptuous scenery in the area, so next up might be a trip to the nearest nature reserve, the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's chalk grassland of the Ringstead Downs (35 minutes) or a wildlife-spotting float around the Norfolk Broads, easily accessible from Norwich.
